I haven't noticed till last night that Connie is A LOT bigger and heavier. I wasn't sure if it was normal so I checked out sites about dogs and obesity. Found out that it's as common as that in humans (oh no!) Husband decided to take her to the vet this afternoon to find out if she's really gaining weight. Last month, she weighed 7 kilos and I though she was already big. I was hoping my worries were... well just worries. Unfortunately, I was right. She is heavier. She's now 8 kilos. According to the vet, gaining a kilo in a month is not supposed to happen to dogs. ㅜ_ㅜ
I'm partly to blame... eerrr I am to blame, I think. I take her out for a walk once a week and that's the day that she's supposed to take a bath. I don't want her getting dirty and stinky from running around outside (Lord knows how she love it!). She loves to be cuddled and would get every opportunity to lie next to us. I kept her in the house or inside the car most of the time. She's gotten lazy as well (need I say who's fault it is?). When nobody's playing with her, she sleeps. When we're sleeping, she's sleeping as well. She won't touch her toy unless you're playing with it or she's suddenly taken an interest to it which is quicker than than the blink of an eye. Her toys don't amuse her anymore.
I do know I have to take her out more often. I'm not exactly sure if I should lessen the food that I'm giving her though. I don't think she eats a lot. She stops when she's full and she eats slowly as well. I might cut down on her treats though. She's one sneaky "little" dog. She's usually rewarded for peeing and pooping in the right place. So, to get more treats, she cheats. She holds her pee and then urinates twice or three times. She wouldn't play fetch without a treat. She has to be "bribed" to do something. haay

I think taking her out for more walks would work. She's so adorable though. Is that her adult size? Or will she grow more?
she's turning 2 in July, so I guess that's her adult size. She's big in the middle.
